In a surprise announcement, EA has shown the newest entry in the Command And Conquer series, Rivals. The game will be on mobile and will focus on players taking control of certain areas on a map to fire missiles at each other. It features very simple RTS gameplay as well as simple, touchscreen controls. Players from the US and Canada can register for the pre-alpha and can start playing today.
Command and Conquer used to be a massive PC RTS that had a huge fan base along with a lot of hardcore players. I use to play it back when I was a kid and I have very fond memories that I will never forget. First reactions are pouring in and it seems like fans of the series are not pleased with this beloved franchise becoming a mobile title. It seems like a lot of developers are trying to get a piece of the mobile gaming pie and it doesn’t seem like it’s working well for a lot of them. Many people even question why developers reveal games at E3 altogether. If there is any more Command and Conquer news, we will keep you updated. Remember to stay savvy everyone.
