Klei, the developers behind the popular indie survival game Don’t Starve, has announced the game is making its way to the Nintendo Switch April 12th, 2018. It will be released with all the DLC including Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked for 20$ on the Eshop. You can view the complete announcement trailer from Nintendo below.
Don’t Starve is a survival game about gathering resources to build a base, weapons as well as the means to produce food. Like the title implies, the goal is to prevent yourself from starving and ultimately dying. The games art style is based off of Tim Burton’s work and features many characters who have pros and cons when it comes to gameplay and how to survive.
When I was recently asked about what game I most want to see come to the Nintendo Switch my answer was Don’t Starve as you can see the latest Game Savvy Podcast clip below.
The multiplayer expansion, Don’t Starve Together is missing from the Switch Port with no word on whether or not it will be coming in a future update. PS4 and Xbox One are also getting a physical copy of the game when the Don’t Starve Mega Pack releases later this month. For more on Don’t Starve news, keep following Game Savvy.
