EA spoke about their indie studio initiative called EA Originals. Much like ID@Xbox, EA looks to give indie publishers the opportunity partner with EA to give their games exposure.
FE, from developers Zoink in Gothenburg Sweden, presented a game where everything is connected, where the magic and beauty of nature from all its creatures come alive. It’s coming to PC and consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. You can check out the trailer below.
Zoink gave a beautiful presentation filled with nostalgic story telling of the good old days when the forest was your playground. FE is a game that allows the player to explore at their own pace, much like we used to do as kids running through forests and trees. The game lets you take your time to figure things out, find your own path and create your own personal experience. In FE, the forest is a living thing. It can be light and beautiful or dark and scary. And everything that lives there is part of that duality.
FE will be Available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch early 2018.
It’s a cute looking game that looks like it has a magical story behind it. It plays like a classic 3D platformer, like Yooka-Laylee or Super Mario 64. I personally love games that allow you to check out every nook and cranny, every body of water, every tree top and hill, and allows me to discover the land, nature, and story the creators made for me.
If anyone knows me or has read any of my stuff, you know I love games where I’m free to explore and this looks right up my alley. Give it a tear jerking story as well and it’ll be up there as one of my favorite games of all time (see Ori and the Blind Forest).
