The EA conference started off with a first look at Battlefield 5 multiplayer. There were only a few details revealed, like are no loot boxes and no premium packs. They also said they will release more details about their battle royale mode later this year. The maps and building will also be weaker, which means things can be destroyed more easily. The game is releasing this year, on October 19th on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. There is no word if there will be a Switch version. Just like the previous title, the game will be set in a past historical war, with this game going back to World War 2.
The game became controversial when they revealed there would be a female soldier on the cover of the game. Many were up in arms saying that EA was trying to be too “politically correct” by having women in the game. There are also many other changes to the multiplayer modes. The game is balanced differently, which has you starting with less ammo and explosives, making the support class more relevant. When you respawn, the map will highlight areas where there is lots of danger. Also, any type of class can now revive players, but the medic class can revive far faster and other classes revive players with far less health.
