Sony showed off more of it’s upcoming God of War which will be available early 2018.
This year, Sony showed off the variety of what you can do and what you can expect in the new God of War.
From the trailer, we get a bit of a feel for the relationship that Kratos has with his son. I’m looking forward to the dynamics of their relationship. Kratos is a crusty, angry dude while his son is innocent and curious. The dynamic also allows the player to get inside Kratos’ head as he teaches his son about showing their enemies no mercy and what it means to be a demi-god. The game certainly has a very cinematic feel to it which is what Sony has been going for the past couple of years.
We also got to see a good amount of combat from the new God of War. From hacking and slashing to ground-pound and AOE magic attacks, there’s a ton of ways you can tear up your enemies. What was interesting was the lack of HUD, which has been kind of a theme this E3 but it could be just for presentation’s sake.
Very cinematic feel to the game, which Sony has been going for. They really like to make their games a full experience. One thing that really bugged me was the camera angle. The world and the enemies of the world are huge. But with the camera angle so close and so low, it almost makes you feel claustrophobic. I’m hoping that this doesn’t limit the feeling of the huge world that God of War seemingly takes place in.
Showed up some great interaction with other chracters. Kratos is an angry dude, ktrying to keep his temper under control and he’s teaching his son lessons and this allows us to get inside kratos’ head.
