Rockstar just revealed a new story trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 which will be releasing Spring 2018. You can find the full trailer below:
In the trailer, we’re introduced to Mr. Morgan who will undoubtedly play the main protagonist of the game. If there is a recurring theme to the game he will most likely need to “redeem” himself in some way. Mr. Morgan looks a lot more aggressive than John Marston although we only get to play as a John on a mission to redeem himself and save his family.
The trailer reveals that three lawmen in three different states are after Mr. Morgan. From what I gather it looks like you’ll be on the run while also robbing to gather resources and build up a criminal empire. This becomes more apparent with the introduction of Dutch, a character from the first Red Dead Redemption who was one of the main antagonists.
The trailer also reveals a number of different environments we’ll get to explore. From Louisiana-type swamps to snowy mountain terrain, we’ll certainly be able to get up to no good in a lot of different areas.
My favorite part of the trailer was watching a giant alligator take down a deer. It looks like wildlife will play a big roll in Red Dead Redemption 2 as it did the first one. Hunting was one of my favorite parts of the first game so I’m excited to see how they’ll incorporate that into the new game.
The trailer also gave us one of the greatest lines I’ve ever heard. “Maybe when your mothers finished mourning your father, I’ll keep her in black on your behalf.” What a badass.
Again you’ll be able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 when it releases Spring 2018.
