Red Dead Redemption 2 Delayed
If you thought you’d be playing Red Dead Redemption 2 beside the Christmas tree this year, think again. Unsurprisingly, the once rumored late-2017 release has been pushed back to a Spring 2018 release.
I for one am ok with games being pushed back. If the developers feel they need more time to release a better product than I’m all for it and if we know Rockstar, we can look forward to an awesome product.
So what do we know about Red Dead Redemption so far?
Here’sa quick trailer to help mend your broken heart.
Destiny 2 Updates From The Event
I sat down to watch the Destiny livestream gameplay event and they revealed a ton about the game. Here are some notable things I took away from the event.
What we know about the all new campaign…

Bungie introducing looking for group?
Destiny 2 will have a looking-for-group… kind of.
Bungie is introducing Clans in Destiny 2. You can get together with your team and roll over any enemy in your way. But if you’re short a player, you’ll be able to use “Guided Games”.
Guided Games allows Clans to look for an extra player to join their raids and strike missions. Bungie doesn’t like the idea of “looking for group” systems as they feel it can lead a toxic environment of harassment. I think we all know how salty certain gaming groups can get and I’m all for it. The idea established groups looking for an extra player ensures outside players are arriving into groups (or what I call “tribes”) that already feel safe playing with each other, creating a much more stable environment. I really think this will make the gameplay experience much more enjoyable.

Personally, my favorite thing to do in games is exploring the new worlds presented to me. So I was so excited to learn more about the 4 new locations Destiny 2 is introducing.
In the sequeal we’ll three new planets, Titan, IO and Nessus and we’ll also have a new area on earth to explore known as The European Deadzone.
Each of these places has their own feel and their own personalities and you can take an in-depth look at each new location in the video below.
Far Cry 5 First Images and Trailer
I’m a big fan of the Far Cry franchise. Far Cry 3 was an awesome open world adventure game where you can hunt, scavenge and survive. Far Cry 4 had its issues but it was still a fun game. We got a first look at the cover of Far Cry 5 and like Far Cry 4, it isn’t without controversy.
You’ll play a sheriff’s deputy in what looks to be in the beautiful backdrop of Montana. You’ll be caught up in a war between the US Marshal Service and cult leader, Joseph and his family. They believe that there is an imminent government collapse and that Joseph is the man to lead them into prosperity.
Of course, you might notice a reflection of current events as it’s the US people against the US government and it’s definitely bound to spark controversies with some groups. There is already a petition to cancel Far Cry 5 (but there are a lot of reports that this is fake). I for one don’t really understand the hate. White, supremacist hillbilly’s have been villains in pop culture for as long as I can remember. If you’ve watched the Ttexas Chainsaw Massacre, 1972’s Deliverence and even more recently, Resident Evil 7 and Outlast 2, the hill billy types have always been an avenue for terror, so why is this any different?
All in all, I’m pumped. I’m excited for Far Cry 5 and looking forward to see how they’ve improved since Far Cry 4.
Square Enix Update on Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3
It’s recently been announced that we can expect a Final Fantasy VII remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 in the next 3 or so years. in more recent news, Square Enix has moved the development of Final Fantasy VII from to their partner CyberConnect 2 to its in-house team. In a recent live stream, Naoki Hamaguchi, the project lead on Final Fantasy VII Remake, confirmed the move to in-house to ensure the quality of the game and they’re urgently acquiring new talent.
Again, there’s nothing wrong with a studio putting a little elbow grease to get it right. As for Kingdom Hearts 3… COME ON ALREADY.
it’s been 12 years since Kingdom Hearts 2 released and 15 since Kingdom Hearts 1. I’ve literally graduated elementary school, high school, college, AND university AND have been working 3 years at a career in that time. When Kingdom Hearts 1 came out, it was the best game I’ve played since The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time. While I don’t know if it holds up, it’s about damn time we got a full blown sequel. But I guess I just need to be a little more patient.
Monster Hunter XX First Trailer
Truthfully, I’ve never played a Monster Hunter game but I’ve always wanted to. They’ve had rave reviews and look like so much fun. But I haven’t bought a Nintendo product in years. BUT, with the release of the Nintendo Switch and their pull away from 3D gaming with the release of the new Nintendo 2DS XL (at only $149.99), it’s about damn time I invest in some Nintendo games.
So of course when the new trailer came out, I gave it an optimistic watch as I’ll be buying my first Monster Hunter game. Without further ado here’s the awesome trailer!
