Spyro Reignited Trilogy Gets A September Release Date
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One (and possibly the Nintendo Switch?) September 21, 2018, Activision announced. You can see the full announcement trailer below.
What’s Included In The Spyro Reignited Trilogy?
With the recent success of Crash Bandicoot: N Sane Trilogy, it seems Activision is trying for another blast from the past with Spyro the Dragon. From what we know so far, the trilogy should include the first three games in the Spyro series which include Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Each game will be remastered to reflect the new improved gaming technology we’ve come to love.
All three games were originally developed by Insomniac Games, who have also put work into Ratchet and Clank as well as this years Spider-Man for PS4. However, this remastered trilogy is being developed by Toys for Bob, the creators of Activision’s Skylanders franchise.
Spyro Reignited: What To Expect
According to Activision, Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been “remade from the ground up with improved environments, updated controls, brand-new lighting and recreated cinematics.” It sounds to us like it’s much more than a remaster which could mean good things for the trilogy. You can also expect your favourite cast of character from the Spyro series but, with a little bit of a twist. Activision said that characters have been “creatively re-imagined with additional flair” and promises “full analog stick support and smooth camera handing” as well as “a reimagined version of the soundtrack” originally written by composer Stewart Copeland.
