Ubisoft took the stage at this years E3 to unveil a new IP, Skull and Bones, a Pirate game that focuses on ship combat a la Assasins Creed Black Flag .
Ubisoft Singapore, the developers behind Skull and Bones, gave us a cinematic trailer and some gameplay for their newest game.
In the trailer, we start off with drowned individuals under the water. There seems to be treasure and gold sinking with the unfortunate souls. Their clothing is certainly of another time and it’s probably safe to say this takes place in the same era as Black Flag.
The trailer suddenly cuts to a female ship captain who is flanked quickly by other ships, one adorned with skulls and skeletons and the others with red sails. There’s a heated battle with one ship seemingly coming out a winner. I say seemingly because there is a KRAKEN in the game!!!
The core of the game looks like naval combat with the above walkthrough by Ubisoft showing off Loot Hunt, a 5v5 PVP mode where pirates from around the globe attempt to take down a merchant ship for all its loot. The demo was actually pretty wicked, showing off both naval combat and some third person action shots of players jumping onto other ships. But most importantly they released the KRAKEN!!!
